Credit and kudos has been made for the help that VB support staff give to customers.

Unfortunately the lies, propaganda, protecting of unethical staff members, The sarcastic comments against anyone who posts the facts, the bannings , the alteration of genuine posts, the deletion of genuine posts etc etc, overshadow any good that the support staff have done.

When the support staff do the right thing and set the record straight, then we can all move forward in a respectful manner.

I have seen no move in this direction, only more insults and utter crap posted by the VB support staff.

The mentality of the support staff and their almost unbelievably stupid comments leave me to shake my head in bewilderment.

Tell me honestly, why do the VB support staff think that acting like arrogant morons will endure them to their customers?
Sorry but I just cannot understand the logic of the mindset of the VB support staff.
ULTIMATELY YOU WORK FOR THE CUSTOMERS!

I am retired and financially quite well off, so I do not rely on an employer for my income, however as I see it, the support staff DO rely on the money from VB/IB or the income from doing work on sites to feed their family, so why for crying out loud do they then jeopardize this income by behaving like pratts?

I can only speak for myself but I do none of this.
I haven't banned anyone (except spammers), I've only really deleted spam posts with the exception of a couple of blatant attacks, I've certainly never altered anyone's post unless it's to remove a link, nor have I deleted any genuine posts.

I'm constantly going above and beyond what falls under official support in order to help people out, tonight I have even gone searching for someone's old logo off the web archive for them so they can get their old forum back to how it used to look.

Don't blame support staff for everything. We don't make decisions on development direction and suchlike.

Care to re-consider your post? especially the part relevant to =
How many members have you insulted, for posting genuine comments?

I am not blaming support staff for everything, just for what they have done or not done when needed.
Surely they are responsible for their actions.

Falsely calling me a troll will not result in making me a friend. If the truth hurts then alter your actions.
If you do not speak out against the injustices of the VB support staff then you are classed as supporting them.

If you support the actions of unethical staff members then you are complicit in their guilt.

So you are trying to say that information gathered from forums that the normal member does not have access to does not influence or colour your judgement when you post?

I think you might be right that an employer encompasses both employees and independent contractors.

Dude , there is two possibility

You are either dumb to differ both possibility , or you want to keep the attention on yourself because there is no other way you'll continue to receive the money you receive from IB

I am going to bet on the first option :)

Contractor or employee is not the concern of the customers, you get compisation for the work you do called money. The contractor vs employee is only important for the company because its an tax issue and the paperwork.

Some valid points have been made. However I feel that in some ways the "employer" "contractor" thing is a red herring.

The problems of the VB support staff members are more to do with their actions towards their customers and members. This they seem to be avoiding.

Being in continual denial of the facts will not help them to recover nor to mend their ways.

Their delusions that they are somehow superior to their members is foolish and will (has already) work against them.

Success is a progressive realization of a worthy ideal or goal, sadly they are just a failure.

I think you are on to something here. Given his denial in any wrong doing against vB customers while acting the role of support staff, he is just trying to fog the issue with the irrelevance of who he is employed or not employed by.
The facts are he is an ass hole who has a position of authority and abuses that authority to shit on people. His employment credentials are as you say a "red herring"

And Lizard Kings suggestion he is suffering from some mental deficiency can't be ruled out either.

I said as much earlier. However, the fact remains it's a legal distinction.

Legally, no, it doesn't. My contract expressly states this.

For the company you work for yes its legal thing because of tax issues and benefits, for us the customer its has no impact what so ever. We do not know what your contract says, nor we have any right to know because its between you and the company. That's why customers of a company need to count on the fact if some one says something as staff member that it holds up, else you can say anything you want to get issues fixed or even sell stuff while the company can say he/she was not allowed to do. But you all ready know this because your not stupid you may act like it but you aren't.

All anyone needs to know is whether I "work for" a company or not. I'm fine with this, however if someone expressly calls me an employee, I will always correct that statement because it's untrue.

At this point, most alternatives are probably better off than vBulletin. Personally, I would go with XenForo, but IPB seems to have some good things going on as well. Regardless, I would move away from vBulletin if I were you. You'll get the same kind of crap on their official support forums.

    EDIT::

also, there's a pretty nifty free alternative in development called nodebb. I would look into this too, although, I don't think it has matured enough yet. It is quite impressive so far, though.

Being honest I have not really had any issues with VB/IB on their sites but I know others have and then there is this thread....
I wish IPB and Xenforo had a forumchild, that to me would be the best software ever! :DNeither are *there* yet for me personally but we are keen to move sooner rather then later.
But thats for another thread I suppose....

Yeah, it's not safe to say that everyone has had the same bad experience on the forums. Usually it's the people that criticize the product on the forums. Anyway, see my edit above :)

    Hi Zero Hour.
A Google search of reviews or complaints about VB will show quite a few more posts on other sites with a similar theme.

Once the VB support staff start to treat their customers like dirt, then there will be an inevitable backlash, that will not cease until they set things right and apologize.

Meanwhile many disenchanted customers are leaving VB and moving to their competition, especially as the competition generally treats their customers with respect. Something that VB staff and IB management seem incapable of doing.

It is great entertainment to read the piss poor excuses for their incompetence from VB support staff on TAZ.

Some of their comments are truly epic, as they try to defend the indefensible. It is like watching inmates from a mental institution as they post their delusions. Caught out, they can only post dribble and try to divert the comments away from the real issues.

One of the classics of all time could be titled:
"The pot calling the kettle black"

Here it is, a comment by BirdOPrey5 who is a confirmed liar and is unethical and morally bankrupt. Well known for making up "facts out of thin air, he is a star among the axis of evil.

    More from Joe:
You mean like the VB support staff?

Oh dear me, This is just hilarious, watching Vb support staff is like watching a re-run of the keystone cops.
