But you said you were NOT representing the company!

You don't have to. I'm just telling you how that works, in most places. That's the legal situation.

Ahem. I'm not representing the company when I post on third party forums.
    This really isn't difficult.

I think we should include Joe D in this axis of evil. It is patently obvious that they are totally unethical, incompetent morons.

Twisting things again Mark? The comment was in reference to VBulletin, NOT IB. As the axis of evil are at pains to point out, they are two separate identities.

vBulletin is part of IB so in this context there's no distinction. So to suggest I'm twisting things is, well, twisting things.

@Mark.B, just an FYI, contractor or staff or employee or whatever the hell else you want to call it: Your behavior here is making a loyal vBulletin customer seriously consider migrating to xenForo. I'll be sure to mention your name and this thread in my customer feedback when I make the jump.

If US law is similar to Australian law, then VB and IB are separate legal identities, the fact that one owns the other is of no consequence. They are two separate organizations, so there is a positive distinction.

    Your words not mine.
You admit to being paid, presumably by VB, ergo you are are in a situation whereby in some manner you are employed by VB. Whether it is directly or on a contractual basis. If you are an independent contractor you are still receiving income from VB.

@Peace. Well said! It was stated earlier many times that the three guys from VB/IB were actively destroying the good name and reputation that VB once held, due mainly to the help and assistance of the many customers, programmers and coders who freely gave of their skills and time to help other VB customers.

Many times helpful and constructive comments and posts have been made by VB customers and some very experienced people in a bid to stave off the inevitable disarray that is now occurring with VB.

Unfortunately the staff and management are too blinded by their own importance to actually listen to these good people and to implement their positive suggestions. Ergo the further disintegration of a once well respected organization will continue.

The axis of evil trio only have themselves to blame.

Doesn't honestly matter. In my own time I represent neither of them. That's all I've been trying to say.
I'm paid, I'm not employed. That's not me being awkward. It's a legal distinction that affects all sorts of things such as company benefits, and other stuff too. That's why I always correct people because there is a legal distinction. Personally I don't really mind if people think I'm "employed", but the fact is that legally and contractually, I'm not.

I don't have any influence over ANY management decisions. I just do my job to the best of my ability, that is all. Sadly on a forum like this nobody sees the great work myself and my colleagues do to help customers out of various "holes" and yes we do go the extra mile, all the time, and people appreciate us for it.

Please assign comments to the right Person. It is unfair to other members to assign comments made by others or myself to them.
