Well you all know that I like to keep things on topic!

One thing to consider, is that VB is in such a bad stage now, it may be being seen as an easy target by hackers, while it is in such disarray.
What better time to hack VB customers? After all VB have upset many people.

What I find disconcerting about these vulnerability and exploit announcements is that for weeks they deny it is the software, blame it on user poor passwords and the like, then issue a fix. If it isn't the software what did they fix?? I don't believe they have any control on users passwords so what was the point of fixing something they claim wasn't broken?????

They did the same thing over at SMF. People have complained for years there was a major security breach the staff denied yet weeks or months and in one case I know of, after years of ridiculing their members accusing them of scare mongering, they issue an announcement of a major security breach and fix. DUH!!!!!

I wonder what would've happened if the exploit had required the releasing of a patch. How fast (or slow) they would've done it.

LOL, I suggest you give up Mark, you keep slipping up too much. This is what you said before below, which completely contradicts what you said later above.

It took me a while to find this but according to your statement above that I quoted because I no longer use the software or have an operating vB forum I am no longer a customer? Seems to me that all vB licenses are for life as has been told time and again by the staff to customers. If fact you stated this very same thing
So again you fabricate your facts to suite the situation or the excuse you are trying to cover up.

You have been found out. You are an imposter, and a fraud . Your words carry no truth and you dishonor yourself and vB to continue this charade.

YOU were the one who stated you were no longer a customer, and your account on vBulletin was unlicensed.

I'm not going to post anything further to you since, just as on other forums, your post only abuse and insults.

One of the things I do like about XenForo is its highly effective ignore list. Good day to you sir.

More lies Mark, I never said I was no longer a vB customer and neither did I state anywhere that I was unlicensed. Good lord I can' believe the crap that comes out of your mouth.

Yeah you run and hide you coward because you know you have been caught tared and feathered in your own lies.

I'm sure that as a forum host we all have the same concerns of keeping our members info out of the hands of hackers. And granted not all of us are going to be bullet proof no matter what software we use but the difference is in the attitude of the developers and the integrity they have in their work.

    What ?
A possible exploit was first heard about last Friday I think, at which point no one could state if it was indeed vB related or a server issue. Over the weekend, a couple more instances were seen and sometime on Monday, we got some server logs that suggested it may be possible, it was investigated and the announcement made late Tuesday. How is that weeks ?

If you mean you deleting your forum account and posts yesterday. Yes, I'm well aware you came to my forum doing it as I had to remove the topics later you'd posted in, seeing as you ruined them by deleting all your posts in then. Lucky for me you only posted in about 4 though, so no big deal Mark.

I wouldn't call losing 4 topics, losing half the forum with 500+ topics listed.

Since you're back to making up lies about me, you can be the third person to see the excellent and highly effective XF ignore list.

Lets face it Mark, you'll still read what everyone says when browsing the sites logged-out.

(what a wrong reason to join in a forum)

Must confess that I beginning to like Xenforo.
Would love to try it once it has its own CMS.

Sadly I'm thinking sites are not the only thing he's logged out of. There is something very pathological about this kid that no amount of therapy can treat. He's doing the same thing here that he does on vB, abusing his posting privileges to spam threads and disrupt the flow. He can't ban anyone or delete their posts so he does the next best thing, he hits the ignore button.
Personally I think he's lying about ignoring people. I think he's too paranoid about what people might say about him behind his back and he's just lurking.
I also think he is a classic example of why Dr. Spoke's book on child rearing should have been ripped up and burned.
There's just too many of these uncontrolled spoiled brats running loose.

He won't ignore anyone. He's to much of Drama Queen to do it. He might do it for about 1 hour, then unblock them when they post again. It's like tempting a dog with a meaty bone, you know he'll take it... just to have something to gnaw on.
