<rant of the day> What pissed you off today

I woke up to an email this morning that godaddy auto-renewed 3 domains that I wasn't planning on keeping. I know it's my fault for not disabling the auto-renew but dangit!! 40$ I wasn't planning on spending.. Oh well

Not sure this thread will take off but surely there is something even if small, that pissed you off today.

If you contact GoDaddy by phone they usually issue a refund, just say that you disabled auto-renewal and have no clue how it was re-enabled. I had the same issue and they were able to refund me pretty quickly.

 

Are you serious? A thread where we can talk about stuff that pisses us off and you don't think it will take off? Come on, we all have stuff that makes us angry. Here's mine for today:

I have planned three vacation days next week and today I was told at work that I won't be able to get away for another three weeks because next week we are going to start a project. Good thing that I didn't have any reservations yet...

 

That's happened to me with GoDaddy, the worse thing I hate is that they charge you full price. If you do it manually your bound to find a good discount code to get it down to at least half price. I know I'm stingy but money is money

My Rant of the Day is that all Emails sent out from my forum keep being put into Spam Folders on Hotmail and Yahoo!
Even though I've registered my IP's with them and the mail servers and they are supposed to be adjusting it hmm.

 

So the domains were canceled with the help of the godaddy twitter account yesterday, saved me a phone call after work. A happy ending after all..lol

 

oh man I have a rant

so I'm working on a clients site and I see the previous developer (once a very well known advertising company here in Topeka) had hard coded a ton of images back to their own website..

So what does that mean, well they actually have a complete old copy of the website on their old severs, so they have about a thousand pages indexed, which are all duplicate content of the clients current site..

I was going to break the 5 mile ceiling on my walk today. A ceiling I haven't broken since last summer. I did my 2.5 mi there. A mile into my walk home I see 2 bear cubs. They aren't the problem. If there are cubs around the mama ain't far behind so I had to be picked up.

I was all phych'ed about it too!

 

One thing that pissed me off today?

Internet connection dropping constantly.

 

I love companies that put an effort on having good communication with the customers. It's awesome that a tweet can save you the time (and maybe money) of a phone call.

I have a rant related to customer service: last year I got a chinese tablet from pandawill.com that arrived with the screen cracked. They have a customer service chat available on their site but the chat is never available and when I finally got an answer there they told me to send a mail to a gmail account. I did but it appears like several people check that account so I got about six different answers on what was going to happen with my tablet.

At the end I sent it back and they then sent me a new one but I had to send about 25 emails in the course of over two weeks.

That's really messed up. Now that it's paid for though, maybe you can do something with them?

What pissed me off today? More like annoyed. The dude never got out of bed all day and I felt like I was living alone.

 

Usually you don't work on saturdays?

Well I have a new rant: I work every single saturday and I've been doing that for the last 5 years and a half...

 

yup and the ad company has shut down which is odd that the URL's even work.
I've copied the images and will fix the links then email them to ask them to take it down.
I'm looking forward to that email

 

What ticked me off today is hearing the news in which their's more violence going on in Eygpt.

It's just so frustrating knowing that they'll never be peace to speak of in the Middle East.

 

I work Saturdays as well yes, ever since I started worked when I was 16 many many years go ;-)
But it's just the 'Work' in General that is a good enough thing to rant over. I would rather by home doing my own thing and website stuff.

 

Okay.. Rant of the day.

So last night I took my son to a few parks around here and everything was going great then we went to this one park is the.. well, not so good part of town but not horrible.

And my rant is about deadbeat parents who use foul language in front of their kids. They don't realize "maybe" that kids are little sponges. If they see mom cussing up a storm they will think it's ok to act like fools as well. I can't stand it when I see families like this at the parks we're at. I usually give me son the 5 minutes till we leave speech and we go find a better suited park to play in.
Some say people are a product of their environment which I could see but there is always room to improve the lives of your children but when you act like trash, your kids will grow up with the same mentality.

In short.. teach your kids how to act like adults and they will have a much better chance at a successful life!

 

What annoyed me today is that I went to a local library, in part to work on the internet, and the only computer that works at that library wouldn't allow me to work on the internet. It said the connection couldn't be made.

Oh, well.

I'm ranting over the fact that I have nothing to Rant over lol. It's Sunday and I'm off work and the sun is shining and I'm cooking a lovely breakfast to eat - yum!
