    Yeah the dotted lines were ghastly.

    If you are using TMS he has a temp fix on github.

    I'm debating on passing over the Beta 4 upgrade and just wait for the next Beta or RC. The sites running pretty good now and we have the new functions that I was after.

    *edit*
    never mind, I just updated to the beta 4
    we're having an issue with another mod that had been updated and I wanted to see if this would make a difference

    I always wait for the first point release before I upgrade. Only exception was when I was on the beta team for vbulletin 3. I am considering upgrading to 1.2 soon. I don't use many addons and the ones I do are already updated so I might give it a whirl.

    I noticed you had some downtime when you first upgraded. Was it a mistake on your part or a bug in the scripts?

    Likely a mistake on my part then my host failed me with the backup.
    If it happened again I could fix it or at least get the site up within 5 mins... Well, I'm fairly confident that I could.

    My upgrade to 1.2 Beta 1 was flawless, except an issue with my ads and the responsive style :)

    Have you not made this style responsive, Brandon?

    AFAIK it should be?
    Is there a setting somewhere?
    It's the default style for the most part.

    thx

    It's not collapsing at all Brandon, scroll bars appear as soon as you minimise below the fixed width visibility.I'd take a guess you are probably using a fixed width value instead of a max-width value to set the style width.

    Try resetting the General > Page Width Controller Style Properties page and then add to the miscellaneous additional CSS box on that page:

    HTML:
    max-width: 1280px;
    Adjust the width variable (1280) to suit your requirements. Hopefully that should fix it.

    Thanks, I'll check it out when I get some time tonight.

    thanks @zappaDPJ

    This is what I have now, added "max-" to what I had before.

    Code:
    max-width: 992px;
    margin: 0 auto;
    box-sizing: border-box;
    Does that look better @John ?

    thx

    Joy of running a forum ^_^. Glad everything's back up. I didn't read the past 2 pages but what did you screw up in the upgrade?

    It was mainly plugin compatibility issues with the upgrade, then I was busy camping for a weekend so everything was at a stand still.

    I think the answer to that is yes... and at the same time no :ban::D

    Your style now collapses correctly but only to a certain size which is probably bigger than the smallest size required for a smart phone in portrait mode. I'll try and unravel that so it makes some sense!

    Take a look a the screenshot of your forum next to one I'm currently working on. The width of yours is showing the point at which your style stops being responsive (horizontal scroll bars have appeared plus the breadbox navbar has partially disappeared behind the main navbar). Mine has collapsed down much further with no scroll bar and everything is still intact.

    I can't quite see what's causing your style to only partially collapse but I'll have a poke around later and see if I can find the problem :)

    OK, I've found 2 issues. The first one is not causing the responsive style to break a such but it's worth mentioning. In a nutshell your advertising is not responsive so it's partially off-screen on a smart phone. I doubt this is easily fixable.

    The second issue appears to be a problem with your logo. This is hard to test without a copy of your style but I think the width of your logo is what's causing the breadbox navbar to disappear. The fix if I'm right would be a reduced width logo.

    This screen capture for reference is from an iPhone 4.

    Thanks for the info @zappaDPJ

    I'll have to think over what we can do, we're not dropping that nimbus ad and I have no plans to change the logo right now.

    I have upgraded to the latest xenforo 1.2 RC1
    upgraded and enabled the profile completion mod we have before the upgraded
    and updated the sonnb spam mod we've been using.

    I suspect a solutions to these problems will come eventually from within XenForo and also from the advertisers. We live in an era of mobile browsing so responsive design that caters for branding and advertising is a must.
