Thank you, Steve. I appreciate your support. Your description of how events unfolded is correct.

I gave the short version. LOL

My concern is that the current client base is aware of your efforts and stand behind you.

If we gave the long version it would be a novela suitable for Spanish television! :)

I hope that customers stand behind my attempt to keep them informed and consider other options for the future, better than what has been happening.

If I provide nothing else, and succeed at nothing further, everyone at least knows the state of the company now.

I personally admire your transparency, and I'm glad you're reaching out to let your customers know the truth.

However, I wish some code & cash wasn't tearing apart your relationship with your brother. I hope your family somehow finds a new kind of harmony from this experience.

Thank you. I don't like having the news shared in this way, but it's more important for customers to know the truth than to wait forever for someone with a history of non-communication to let them know, after all this time of abandonment.

It's been so disheartening for me to see the vbseo.com forums as customers and new purchases pleaded for help and nobody would bother to answer them.

Some people do not agree with my position, but they know what it is because I'm communicating it.

And also it's not like this is the first time she or Joe have spoken about this. But there is now an urgency which did not previously exist, given that Juan has announced his attention to dump the project.

I totally agree. It would seem that Juan has been acting in bad faith more months now. As someone with an interest in seeing the project continue, I applaud and fully support the steps Ilia is now taking.

Yeah that's basically what I meant, him doing worst....preventing you or anyone from getting the script and doing whatever else.....

Great choice to tell everyone about it because many people are paying 100s of $ and there not getting what they paid for if you got the company back would you start to develope it again?

This is not the way to go about this.
Even if you are handed the corporation in its entirety.
You assume all assets. Are there any?
And all liabilities. What are they?
You need to talk to a qualified corporate attorney.
It isn't nearly as simple as "If I get the brand back I can fix this mess."
You could be walking into a class action lawsuit.
Or any number of individual ones.
Or any number of other legal issues.
    Quarterly reports?
    Taxes?
    Insurance?

It's nice to think Juan might do the "right thing" but in reality he might just hand you the corporation to get out from under a lot of problems that would become your legal responsibility.

    Thank you.

I have to review everything first. If there was any way to continue the company that would be great, including the option of having a new team take over.

Opinions on whether or not it's viable, vary greatly within the community. We certainly know why there is strong pessimism. The company is in very poor standing right now.

    1. We do have lots of customers with it still installed vb3/vb4
    2. There is interest in development for other platforms, although that may not be viable.

Good points. My estimation is that it's a mess. Crawlability is an incorporated legal business entity. Anything gone wrong under Juan's direction is a failure of his fiduciary and legal responsibility.

I assume you have not had a follow up reply from Juan at this point?

I upgraded to VB4 a couple of days ago on one of my forums and renewed my vbseo license before this "announcement" :cautious:. Last post and new post links don't work and it looks like vbseo is the reason why

Does anyone have a fix for this? And suggestions for removing vbseo and not losing traffic

No, I sent an email and LinkedIn messages. He has not responded yet.

I'm so sorry to hear this.

You represent exactly the type of situation that I am hoping to prevent from happening by making sure everyone knows the status of the company.

Please contact Andres here. He insists that he's working and has started posting a few times today in the vbseo.com forums after I asked him to get back to work.

Some of us having been trying to provide peer support at vBSEO. I don't know whether there is a forum here at admin-talk where that would be permitted but if allowed I would suggest you post details of the problem you're having here or at the vBSEO forums. I don't pretend to be an expert in all aspects of vBSEO but I am a license holder and I am the tech admin at two other forums using vBSEO - I'll take a shot at figuring it out.

If you really want to remove vBSEO, you'll need to redirect the old rewritten URLs to new URLs using .htaccess. see:
