You may not need anything, Joey. As you said, you're not a customer. You are not one of the ones that has been abandoned over at vbseo.com.

However, just as I'm aware you were never a customer, I'm also aware of how you seem to pop up in Topify threads on the defense, such as the one at TAZ where some members suggested they were scraping forum content to monetize. What is your association, just so we're clear?

How was Forumcon? Make any new friends? :)

Forumcon was great.... Yes, several new friends. And yep, I like Topify. Forumrunner completely sucks IMO and tapatalk charges my users while Topify is free - Topify will be good for my users I think.

The old version of it is, but the new tapatalk 2 still requires a fee.

Okay great, so they've moved on.

Yeah it'd be nice if they officially killed vBSEO the rest of the way off, but whatever.

    Wow!

I guess this just goes to show the importance of transparency and respect for data.

It doesn't mention anything about DMCA notices, but I'm sure that might be something they end up doing for people that believe it is a serious copyright violation. I don't know if it fits that criteria or not.

    Same server, similar IPs?

It could be anyone. Lot of upset people at TAZ in the scraping thread. All of them capable of setting up a template site.

I know, I'm just joking because that site has his MO written all over it. I don't think it's his really, was joking!

Well if people are that concerned about it, that blog does list a link to go and complain directly to Apple and get something done about it proper: http://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/appstorenotices/

If (any of) the data is stored on their central server and/or fed from Topify's servers to the app (proxy, interim processing phase), the DMCA notice could potentially insist that the matter be corrected or take the entire server offline.

Again, I don't know if this particular case fits the criteria. Copyright issues are never simple. Not sure if there is a legal precedent out there for this precise type of situation yet.

That has to be one of the best "team" pages that I've seen for any company or startup. Nice job whoever coded that! :)
