Not very often. I buy domains only when I am starting any new project.

I'm the same way, I rarely (although I have) buy domains without plans for them.

I used to buy a lot of domains but have stopped since it became clear they will be less and less valuable as they open more stupid TLDs... .co... now all the private TlDs coming... I'm not playing their game anymore.

This year I've been buying a new domain name every month. So far I have purchased 4 domains this year. All are for projects that I'm working on. Right now I'm developing the first and the other three are just ideas right now.

I don't think I'm buying another domain soon.

I hardly buy domain names, say 10 for the entire year or so, but that's mainly because I have been really lazy, but I'm planning on being a little bit active by end of next month :)

    I buy them rarely anymore.

I maxed out at about 30 at one point.

Then I started letting them expire and have about 7 now. I think.

Mainly cause of godaddy's renewal prices. Now that I found namecheap... I might add some again.

I've been trying to cut down because I've barely developed the names I already have, but today I went and snapped up medievalmoviereview.com and renaissancemovies.com.

Never, unless I start a website. This is my first domain I've brought in the past year; I had one last year for an unsuccessful forum.

I ended up buying another domain yesterday. That makes 5 domains this year. I used a coupon code at godaddy 99COMS and got it for just 99 cents plus the ICANN fee.

I've actually trimmed down the amount of domains I own and have got rid of some sites too because I always seem to have this guilty feeling like I should be working on them. Trimming the fat, and getting rid of the ones without any potential helps me to better focus on the sites that are going somewhere. Whenever I have a new domain I at least like to set it up and get some content on it, so it can age instead of just sitting there.

I buy some every now and again, However due to Flipping and Old Domains Expiring I never normally hold more than 10-12 at a time in my Domain Account.
When Buying new Domains now though, I tend to check 2nd Hand Domains first and Domain Auctions to see if I can find any relevant and aged Domains with a good history to give my new site a head start.
