    Question:

Scott, do you own a Ver 5 license from vBulletin? If not, what version do you own?

Why do you want to know?

To be honest, no. I don't own one. I don't want one. I wouldn't pay for one and IB couldn't even pay me to take one.

What I do have is a lot of German customers sitting waiting for IB to get their act straight and feeling even more neglected as customers than the regular vB.com customers feel. And I am still trying to fight for their interests.

Although, soon I won't have to, because there won't be any customers to fight for.

For me, I don't care what they do.

I'll get to that point at some point too.

    I've bought vb5c's license, but I can't leave feedbacks..

Then your forum account hasn't been moved to the licensed user group. There is a task that runs, usually hourly, to do this but it does occasionally bug out and need to be restarted manually. I assume by now you have got it sorted, otherwise you should email sales 'at' vbulletin.com and ask why you can't leave feedback as a licensed customer.

As I suspected, VB has released their promised Ver 4.2.1 .

And, they have refunded my Ver 5 license amount that I paid last year.

We will be staying with their Ver 4 for quite some time now that they are back enhancing Ver 4. I don't expect to repay for another Ver 5 license for quite sometime, but I happy they got us the promised 4.2.1 and they refunded my money.

"As I suspected" seems like an unusual way of phrasing "As VB has said they would ever since 4.2.0 was released..." There was nothing secret or sinister going on here.

Not sure where you're going with my quote - but allow me more clarity:

VB has always, since I first purchased in 2000, made sure that refunds are reasonable when they cannot provide what they promised. Under new ownership (Internet Brands), I suspected when I laid down the money for Ver 5 that they would either produce the product or offer a refund. As far the as the VB Ver 5 product goes, they have not fulfilled their promise as of yet. But as far as continuing to offer refunds, I suspected they would - but there were some doubts under new ownership. My suspicions prevailed - and they honored by VB Ver 5 refund - regardless of not having a sustainable Ver 5 as of yet.

No conspiracy theories here . . . just 13 years of experience.
