Well, someone on another site said it'd be interesting to see who people predict will win the case, so let's put it to a vote! Who do you think's won the court case? In who's favour has it been settled?

Both parties gave something and both parties received something.

You forgot the "I have no idea" option, which is what would get my vote.

It's a prediction poll. You're meant to vote who you think has won (because a settlement has apparently been reached) and then we're supposed to see who was right when they reveal the result. Hence no 'don't know' option.

Really only see there being 2 outcomes.

    1) IB pays all legal fees and possibly some lost revenue and development starts up again with the current team.

    2) IB pays legal fees and a lump payout to xenforo in return they close the doors and the software is no longer developed.

I tend to lean towards option 2 based on some of the rumors out there about who's still.around and the fact that there's been no development for over a year and realistically there got to be more than the court case affecting that.

The option was prob given to either take the money and close it down or go to court where win or loose they would of got nothing in terms of compensation. Could see xenforo just going away without any sort of announcement though.

Internet Brands won because they have a lot more money to pay their own legal fees.
XenForo is probably going to be bankrupted by the legal bills.

It will be a success if KAM will restart to develop the software. It does not matter what is hidden behind a confidential agreement. We just know that something is hidden.

May be a good status for XenForo in the end.

I'm not sure how any can provide any reasoning as to how Internet Brands came out on top of this? They dismissed the case with prejudice and xenForo gets to develop onwards software that doesn't suck, like vBulletin 5 does.

Any case that is settled is dismissed with prejudice. That has nothing to do with who got the better deal.

Honestly think that XF just won the thing.
Funny how XF can make anything look and work 100 times better.

I think it is hard to say with any certainty as to who actually won as we are not privy to the outcome by the court.

We could probably be more accurate in giving our thoughts on who actually lost.

It seems that IB shot themselves in the foot as far as reputation is concerned.
The whole episode could be likened to a David and Goliath battle. IB always had the risk that they would be perceived as the big company going after the small guy, and this seems to be the final impression.

I do not feel that IB have won many friends by their action.
