I can't stand fluid width.

It's annoying and likely something that'll contribute to me not returning.

How big is the monitor that you're using? I know when I'm on a 24" monitor, fluid widths look terrible. On smaller ones, it is easier to deal with.

    1920 x 1080 resolution.

    I don't know my monitor's inch size.

I dunno....I think fluid is easier for all monitor sizes.

Like the above said fixed width on a large monitor is pretty brutal.

I just maximized AT on a 24" running at 1920x1080. It's not that bad. I usually run my browser as a smaller window though just wide enough to see everything.

In most browsers, it's possible to zoom using Ctrl-Pad+ / Ctrl-Pad- . On Opera, there's a zoom slider at the bottom right of the browser window. That's why I prefer Opera. :D

Same here. I really don't like full fluid websites generally because they're going to really stretch things if I have a full window open. I would rather users see pretty much the same thing. A fixed fluid site is preferred (one that is fluid up until a certain point and then locks so it doesn't stretch the site entirely) but if I have to choose between the other, I would probably say fixed at this point.

I'm hoping to see more responsive design in the future. Essentially this is extremely fluid width.

Haha I actually said FLUID width on a big screen is pretty bad. And yeah, it makes everything so far spaced apart that it doesn't look too nice. Way too much whitespace then.

Are you talking about on this site, Admin Talk?
Because the rest of the conversation seems to talk about fix/fluid styles in general..

I am the opposite. I hate fixed widths, 80-90% is ok but anything less than that will contribute to me not going on that site.

I like fluid width -- that's the original concept of HTML ... I find it annoying when a page has fixed width and I have to employ the zoom slider, but even more when zooming doesn't work.

I like it how a page reflows when I zoom in ...

Plus, everybody uses a different display, so the page displays differently for each user. Coding fixed-width pages is a PITA, and bad for users.

This is why you provide both.

I meant for this site and in general. Whatever this sunny cloudy skin is, it will do.
