vBulletin about to release vB 5 connect as gold?

Apparently, they plan to release the gold version of vBulletin 5 connect 'soon'. Which kind of indicates it's going to be a bit of a mess and resemble the beta.

Are they rushing ahead with this too quickly? Should they have waited a bit longer first?

Apparently its a typical press release. Staff haven't confirmed it, they just said:

I believe they should be waiting because I still haven't seen any updates on their URLS changing, and if they've updated things on the performance issues. I've been watching the threads for the past few days, and all I've seen is that the developers are working - on the performance issues, and other issues that were spotted by members.

 

They've been stating for a while that it would be released by the end of the year.

 

Agreed, I've been saying this ever since they brought Lawrence on board. Whether that means Gold is released tomorrow, October or in November, that's anyone's guess. But I would imagine it won't be in September or December. Should we start a poll? LOL

 

We all know the real Gold won't be until 5.2 if we're lucky. I'll save my dollars accordingly.
