Either they're getting ready for a redesign, or they closed it because the founder isn't really managing it...

 

Seems to be have down for a while now. I wonder when they'll get booted out of search for having a blank page, unless they set something up and have a down message somewhere. Or, the owner ran out of gas like @Carlos stated.

ah so it is, but it's deadly slow for me right now.
I wonder what happen, it was just a blank screen on all pages.

 

All categories seem to be working for me now. It's fast as well.

I'm surprised there isn't more forums listed than that.

 

They haven't updated in years. I think last time I checked it says I was using vbulltin 3.0

 

There are currently 18122 forums waiting in our submission queue.
In the last month, 1 submissions have been processed.
At this rate it will take 18122 months before a new submission will be reviewed.

 

Someone needs to make a better directory than theirs. But, I understand the complex of the script. I think it would be a good idea since they're slow to add new sites just like Dmoz is.

 

Let's do it. I'm down. I have server space and domain credits.

There is this site that started a couple years ago, I use to know the founder but I'm not sure if it's the same group or do I remember who it was. I just know that I did know them..lol

Basically, pre-paid for a domain name that I so choose.

 

Honestly, someone needs to do the same for the DMOZ itself. Really, it can't be that hard to make a better, more popular directory, right?

That's a site that really needs someone to completely outdo and better it.
