Any graphics artists here? Do you use a graphics tablet, and if so, which one?

Also, which operating system do you use? Windows, Mac, Linux?

    I can use a paint brush, that's about it..lol
I've always wanted to play on one of those tablets with the pen's that you can use as a bush or other instrument.

Me too, I ordered a small cheap one today that is compatible with Linux, for testing. I have a painter gene in me, so I occasionally try to paint or draw. On paper, it works well enough for me, but I miss the editing capability of a computer (when I edit on paper, I often make holes in it, because it is too wet for instance ;) ). I always wanted to try a tablet with a pen to see what I can do with it. I imagine that especially making graphics for games should be far easier (I know I've played too much Machinarium). ;)

I have a hard time designing on those tablets. I mean they're nice to have around and use some of their accessible features, but I don't think it would be as easy as using a computer. You have to have the talent to use them for art!

    ???

These graphics tablets are attached to the computer, they replace the mouse or trackball with a pressure-sensitive pen and the tablet is used for absolute positioning relative to the top left of the screen.

They can be used to emulate working with things like ink, crayon etc. on the computer.

To me, at least, it's the single most valuable input device (after mouse/trackball and keyboard ;) ).
