I recieved an e-mail as a attendee to ForumCon... One big announcement was dropped: "Very excited to announce that for those that are interested in or able to arrive a little early, vBulletin will be unveiling their newest version in a special pre-briefing session kicking off at 8:15am the morning of ForumCon. Its the product's "world premiere" -- and you'll be one of the first ever to get an inside look at its features and functionality. " To read the schedule for ForumCon - Here it is.
It had better be imo If they come out all half assed like v4 was it's not going to end well for many customers.
I heard all about vb 4 haters. I think it was a step up from VB 3 though. I'm just hoping they change up the activity stream, and add tweet buttons to thread, and other social bookmarking because everything is changing, but if the touch the styles, hopefully its not so bad.
ohh. I would never say it was a step up when it first came out 2.5 years ago.. I wasn't even mentioning it to my clients until 4.0.8 came out. Still lots of bugs that I hope aren't in the vb5 release.
Ya, I hope they fix all the bugs that have surfaced, and do something with the blogs feature as well - because currently, it only has a "like" for Facebook on blog posts, but not "Tweet this" or "Google + this", I think the forum threads would also benefit from this, there's probably a plugin out there that does this, but it would be better for vBulletin to implement it, same with the tagging feature - especially if they want to compete directly back to Xenforo.
Sure thing! Pictures will be coming! Though, I dunno if I will be able to attend this particular "Press Event." I don't have "Press" on my name, or whatever. And I didn't even know there is a press event at ForumCon other than what vBulletin announced, and in that e-mail. Since, after all the ForumCon site doesn't show "press" section. It's possibly that vBulletin will invite people who will report this on their blogs, and whatnot. Just my guess.
Anna here w/ VigLink -- no need to have "press" in your title to attend the event! Everyone is welcome.
