There are so many scammers, and perpetrators out there I am wondering how do you going about finding the right company to SEO your site or forum? Or are you better off doing it yourself? If doing it yourself is better, what is the best way to get started?

You're better off doing it yourself. There really is no magic to it and anyone that tells you they guarantee massive traffic is lying to get your money.

I agree, it's best to learn it yourself.
It's really easy once you see the logic behind it.
Write your context with high searched words, low competition.
Build your pages to fit within web standards.
Work on a few back links.

I'd say you're better doing it yourself because it's better than outsourcing your money to an SEO company or something. I know I learned it myself, and one thing I learned is, to include your keywords inside your content, as well as meta description and the title of the page.

Thanks so much for all of your input. I had a feeling it was a scam. I am going to continue studying it for sure. Thanks for the links. I always feel like a chump anyway, paying someone to do something I can do myself, not just for free, but better.
