Spammers and Trolls

Do you tolerate people who spam? What about trolls?

People who spam just to catch the attention of the administrator thinking they will have a better chance of earning a position in the moderators team really annoys me. I don't tolerate them.

Trolls can be funny in the beginning but trust me, it gets really annoying after a day. Trolls tend to make fun of others, but after some time they run out of "jokes" and start being offensives. I don't tolerate them.

 

Spammers I give a warning, trolls I just ban... dont tolerate them at all.

 

Same as what Terrorz said. Except about spammers if its a spam bot it would be a instant ban.

 

Spam bots are IP banned from my forum, those are so annoying.

 

I agree, luckily any spam bots havent joined because of xenForo's way to block them.

 

Yet another reason XenForo rules. Usually I'll have a hard time with Spam bots but with Xenforo thats all taken cared of.

 

That's nice, I hope MyBB develop a way to block them too.

 

On vbulletin you see them allover the place, 1 day of forum open you see 500 on your forum im like wow wtf.?

 

The same happens with MyBB forums with no email activation. My old forum used to get 5-15 posts each day from these spammers

 

Yea when I had my mybb gaming forum open about 23 members were bots. Very annoying,

 

That's why I have email activation enabled

 

I also had it enabled too, but it dosent stop them from joining, they just cant post.

 

That's true. Some of the bots did some good quality posts on my old board but some made threads about viagra

 

Haha same here, and some would make threads about how to get legal weed and stuff like that

 

True, some just had some weird letters and links on their signatures :p

 

Well see, for me it depends on the type of spamming being done. I don't want people spamming the crap out of my forum with porn, illegal, or explicit things, and I don't want them spamming as far as advertising goes either, but I have a board strictly for Spamming Called the Spam Zone, it's for forum games and stuff like that it's the only place that kinda stuff is allowed.

Other than that, I don't tolerate any kind of spamming or flaming.

I get annoyed with email validation, becuase some forums tend to abuse that and constantly send newsletters regardless of your contact options =\

 

I agree to, I also never read them.
