My first interview

Here is my first interview. Feel free to read it and share your thoughts on it. Thanks.

Showcasing today?s interview will be with Terrorz. Currently owner of http://adminbb.info/ and http://planetgamers.org/. He recently purchased a Xenfero license worth of 140$. And we will be having it about his 2 sites, one of them running on Xenfero.

(Q)Max Pen: What is currently keeping you most busy in life on a daily basis ?
(A)Terrorz: Well to be honest it is school & work. Always homework, projects, and so many other things involved, then when I get back home I don?t have time to rest because as soon as I get home from school I have to go to work in 1 hour.
My work schedule is from 3 Pm to 7 Pm, I work because my mom is a single mother and I cant watch her work by herself and do a man?s job when all of this is suppose to be something a guy does.. like my father. I would work a full shift but they wont let me because I?m 16. By the time I get home I?m really tired because you know how fast food is? its real FAST, so its keeps me working. Its also a very tiring job, so when I get back home I usually go to bed at 8 PM unless I have homework and other stuff to do.
(Q)Max Pen: How did you get involved with forums ?
(A)Terrorz: The first time I joined a forum was when I was 12, and it was the ?headquarters? for our clan I was really confused at first, but then I started liking it, got used to the sections. The discussions, polls, members, and others things kept me interested.
(Q)Max Pen: What was the first project you launched on the net ? (forum, blog, etc)
(A)Terrorz: As you have guessed it was a forum. I started my first forum on www.Freeforums.org which I am sure every newbie first starts on a free forum host before going pro lol. It was a gaming forum, I liked my clan?s forum so much that I had to have my own forum that would be mine only!

(Q)Max Pen: Your username is ?Terrorz? why did you take that name ? Has it something to do with terror without the ?s? ?
(A)Terrorz: My real name is Zarif Kaiser, and my name was actually suppose to be Terror Z, but people just started calling me Terrorz, and now Terrorz is my name, and I?m used to it. I chose the name for gaming, it has nothing to do with ?Terrorists? lol. I play mostly shooting games like the Socom games, and Terrorz is a pretty good name for it. On every game I play I use that name, so allot of people know me buy it.
(Q)Max Pen: Did you know before starting with your own site, how hard and challenging it was going to be and is now ?
(A)Terrorz: Not really, seemed easy at first. When people use free forum hosts its real easy, you don?t actually do anything, everything is already done for you. Most people move on and learn how to start a forum from scratch which what I did. Takes allot of time and effort and knowledge to build up a website and for it too last. The main thing is you have to have fait in it, or it will be a failed project.
(Q)Max Pen: Name 5 things you learned thanks to managing your own forum?
(A)Terrorz: There are so many things I learned, things you have to know in order to have a ?real? forum and for it to be successful, here are the basic things I learned which should be practiced by other webmasters as well.
1) Patience: Its a key factor in making a website, and if you don?t have any, you might as well not start, because your website wont go anywhere.
2) Passion: You have to have a passion for it, and love it. You cant just make a website because ?everyone? has one or are making one. You have to be really involved in it for it to be successful.
3) Advertising: You have to have some knowledge on how to get members interested to visit/join your site, or you can just be the only member My website PlanetGamers is about 4 weeks old as of this interview and it has a total of 5,665+ Posts, and 170 members. That?s a lot for a pretty new site.
4) Supply & Demand: You have to provide something on your forum that will get peoples interest and keep them coming back for more. Like ForumPromotion is a great example, webmasters visit it frequently on hopes of making their forums more successful, and it does help.
5) Friendliness: You have to be friendly in order to have happy members, and to make your forum have a good atmosphere. Don?t be to strict on people for not following your rules. Let them know in a nice manner, and they will gladly listen to you. If you send them a infraction for something small, you are just going to loose them another member.
(Q)Max Pen: What are your hobbies other then build-up up a forum or forums ?
(A)Terrorz: I have many these are just some:
Gaming, Sports, RC car racing, and Partying!
(Q)Max Pen: You have created your own mod for Mybb:
http://mods.mybb.com/view/mytheme How did you come up with the idea behind the mod ? Was it originally made for your own ? Did you know there was already a mod like yours out there, named: ?Quick Theme? ?
(A)Terrorz: It was for me, because I didn?t like how the QuickTheme was on my forum? it was out of place, so I created my own. MyTheme is much more better than QuickTheme and different because it doesn?t get out of place, and blends in with forum styles. The main difference is that its the only MyBB mod that allows members & guests to change themes by links instead of going to a forum, and selecting the theme manually. Its a great feature for theme developers, as they can link people straight to the demo with the theme, instead of people selecting the desired theme manually to view it.
(Q)Max Pen: About Xenfero. When did you find out about this new forum software ? Were you impressed at first sight or impressed by the positive feedback of everyone ? (How much people like it.)
(A)Terrorz: I found out about it by reading alot about it, it has alot of positive feedback on it, and the biggest is that its the creation of the one time Lead Developer of bulletin Kier Darby. He is the main reason why bulletin is struggling now.. bulletin was great until Internet Brands bought them from Jelsoft. And now Internet Brands was acquired by a Private Equity Firm. vBulletin the one time great forum software is now just on a path to destruction and going downhill.
(Q)Max Pen: Do you see Xenfero becoming the leading commercial forum software on the net ?
(A)Terrorz: Yes I do, with Keir Darby and Mike as the creator and developers along with Ashley, I see a great future for it. Its already close to beating vBulletin as a BETA lol, just think how big it will be 1 year from now.
(Q)Max Pen: Where do other software?s fails where Xenfero succeeds ?
(A)Terrorz: Support, Quality, Price, & meets demands.
(Q)Max Pen: Are you happy you spended 140 on Xenfero the license, are there any down sides ? Like you got to pay for mods or themes ?
(A)Terrorz: Nope there aren?t any downsides, mods and themes are free unless you want something custom made for you. And yes I am very happy with purchasing the license, no downsides so far.
(Q)Max Pen: Can you use the software on more then 1 forum ? If yes would you use it in time also on your planetgamer.org forum ? (That is now using mybb.)
(A)Terrorz: No, I would have started PlanetGamers on XenForo if it wasn?t as big as it is now, but to be honest MyBB is a great forum software, and I love it. I have no intentions of switching it to XenForo as I have put alot of hard work and sweat into its making.
(Q)Max Pen: You just started with ?AdminBB?. What are you going to focus on in the coming days on the forum ? (Promote alot, expand and improve, etc)
(A)Terrorz: Yes that is it! My main goal is to get alot of members on it for it to be a lively active community, and help other admins with their forums.
(Q)Max Pen: Would you ever start making your own software of something ? (Yes why ?, No why ?)
(A)Terrorz: No, alot of hard work and knowledge.. and you need a team of other people with in order for it to work out. So I have no intentions for it.
