I had a guy once that made himself out to be my #1 supporter and said how we was so fair. Well, that lasted for a whole 2 months or so. then he began arguing with members he didn't like. He would close threads of complaints towards him and post the final comment aimed at the aggressor, and the list goes on and on. It came time very quickly for me to let him go, and it was then that he blew up. My began spewing lies and rumors on two semi-competing sites. While it was bad, it didn't affect much and the community was much better for having him gone.

I had a staff member where he declared he got hacked and such, I banned him, and went forward with our community.

The worst I had so far was the former Community Team leader starting an admin forum without me knowing about it, he used a nulled copy of XenForo on it, and he copied content from here. Hes permanently banned now.

I've had so many bad staff experiences, the worst one probably being was that when the new owner (I was co-founder/co-owner) took the liberty of removing me from the staff team without me even knowing about it

Another being when I had the entire staff team do a lot of back stabbing against each other via PM, that was not pretty either...

Yea, that is why when I managed to get back in control with the original owner/founder, we took a decision to remove all staff, ban them and then close the community and start fresh.

That's not pretty at all. All staff members should always get a long with one another, or shouldn't be working together. It's called having a good staff team - like a family connection.

Yup, that is why I ended up getting rid of all the staff who caused the problems in the end, before making the decision with the remaining staff to close the forums and start again elsewhere.

Most worst one was a guy that was stuffing cookies on our site and client sites.
These were clients I had sent to him..

I had one staff member that thought it would be funny to edit the xenforo wiki page with our forums link and try to send our full member list pm's advertising his forum.

That always works. I'm glad you manage to sort things out. I bet it was hectic for a while there.

Yes it was, it caused many members to leave because of the new mod who always went OCD over simple little spelling/grammar mistakes, that staff member was the first to go

Wow, I feel lucky that nothing this bad has happened to me. The worse thing that happened to me was staff going inactive :P

What did you do to make them active again? Did you just fire them or what? Usually when this happens to me, I send my staff member a message and if they don't respond in 48 hours, I tend to fire.

i sent several messages over the course of 1 to two weeks. They tend to come to read the messages, make a post or two, then go back inactive. I tend to fire them after a month :(

But that's still nothing compared to the stories above.

You normally get these problems by hiring those aged 13 and below which thinks "Hating on others" is nice even though it is sad to do it online
