I have no idea what went wrong but my forum is all but dead. My real members are not posting, my postloop members are not posting. I have no clue on what to do! I could use some advice!

P.S. I withdrew my money from postloop because I recieved maybe 10 posts in 5 days.

Maybe because one state is such a small niche?

Give it time man, members and posts will come. How long has your forum been around?

People have to understand active forums just DO NOT happen over night, you have to spend a lot of time advertising & promoting it, and then also request packages & do exchanges with others to kick start your forum, etc,

As your forum is such a specific subject it will be hard to find members to post as it may not be their kind of forum genre.

I agree with this post 100% GamingIsland and GFXExposed is still a rookie site compared to AdminBB and the other BIG forums, they we're most probably online for 4/6 years to get to a point where the activity has come to a point, I recommend advertising in BIG administration/promotional forums also emabling SEO friendly urls which can be found on Xenforo :)

@Soulwatcher Try a new approach and change up your strategies. Your niche limits you the most even on PostLoop. You have users worldwide so you can't expect a lot of activity on somewhere as small as Michigan.

Michigan based forums can do good, look at how good this hunting forum is doing. http://www.michigan-sportsman.com/forum/index.php

I'm not saying they can't do well. Any forum can do well but you said above that your forum was hurting and needed activity. I was just suggesting changing up your strategy a bit more. Maybe instead of investing money into PostLoop (If you do) go get some cards made and hand them out to people as you go about your daily routines of life. You want to focus on attracting Michigan members more than anything so I think you need to find a way to pull them in so you can have a STRONG Michigan member base. PostLoop is good to help create an illusion of activity but at the end of the day most PostLoop users are in it for the money or the points. You can't rely on their activity even if you have a butt-load of points. Anyways, that's my idea. I think your best bet is to try obtaining members from your own city!

I personally found PostLoop works best when you go post on forums who go all premium. You get quite a lot of points that way.

Your 100% right a change of strategy is needed I put a lot into postloop last month. Instead of putting all that money into postloop I am going to use it to write articles on Michigan. I had two other Michigan websites and one of them was a downriver website. Where I wrote articles and it was getting around 150 unique a day from Google. I probably will not know if the articles are working for a month or so. But I will keep you guys posted.

My forum is doing alright. Though, staff and elites are the most active of the bunch. But I think its like that on most forums.

Well I am happy to report that today was a decently active day for my forum. Hopefully this means that I am out of the slump.

That's pretty much how it's going on Chatting Time as well. I'm not too terribly worried. It is summer after all and so you can't expect your forum to really be active in the summer months.

I always thought the opposite since a lot of my members were in school during the other months, but I see now it's not the case :(

That's exactly how I felt when I first started trying to run a forum. With school being dismissed and not having much to do, I used to think my forum would overflow with traffic and posts since most people don't always do a lot in the summer. However, winter is usually the busy time of year, so yeah.

My forums have been in a bit of a slump too the past few days - we had a pretty good week last week but this weekend has been all but dead. Probably just summer drought - not much going on in the gaming world, plus people are on vacation or outside and not spending much time online in general.

I saw that too, and its pretty hard to compete against those that are premium because no matter how many points you rack up, premium members tend to stay on top.
