Have you ever argued with another Admin on your forum? Both the same gender, mostly men. I have, I guess it's that condition where, the other person pays for everything and everyone under him is inferior. I've been that way before, but I've changed to be a calm, admin. Yeah sure, paying for everything has it's gifts, but not everything has to go your way. You made someone else admin to help, and not just be there. Admin means that you add updates to what you think needs, moderate all forums, and if your tech savvy enough, web server updates.

I have personally never had a problem like this but I see it happen often on other forums, I agree admins who are power hungry like that and don't value what other staff has to say on their forums are not much of an admin. Of course its their forum, and they have the right to run it however they feel since they pay for everything but that doesn't mean they should run their forum like a dictatorship.

I know since I've been there. I thought since I payed for everything, I can do whatever I wanted. Well now, I've matured when running forum with other admins. I've learned that having some type of communication will lessen arguments. Now it's time for the other admin to do the same.

Adam I completely agree, Im sure all Admins have been there at some point.. I was the same a long time ago. I have since matured a lot since my first time running forums. Things change in time.

Its an Admin's job to keep everything going smooth, and if they cant simply take suggesstions or advice from other staff, specially admins who devote their free time to help out with the community then their community sooner or later wont last.

There's always some sort of disagreement behind the scenes within PH, but we are all mature enough to work things out in the end :)

Here on AdminBB, me and Ashley.S. often disagree, but we keep things healthy and not let it get out of hand, of course people will disagree on things, that's normal. When its between Admins, they should have mutual respect towards each other and always try to work things out.

That's true, the only time this backfires is when I'm in a bad mood, or I'm extremely tired :(

Well if that's the case then I have seen you in a bad mood once, when we had the big disagreement where you made that blog post about it. lol

It all depends on the partnership really, and did you train the other admin. Was he/she a friends of yours from the beginning? An other admin should be able to do things you can't do as well, that way you have a good partnership and someone that can help even more.

    Arguements do happen though something.

If I am correct Dark is referring to another one of our friends who is kinda of a newbie to running forums, and dark is basically the Tech Admin there.

I did not train him, i've been friends with him for 5 years. I'm there because he doesn't know how to do alot of things such as sql setups, domain registering, and switching from a host to our server. Basically, I'm the tech guy who also is an admin that has a say so.

I've never had disagreements with another admin, but I have had disagreements with a moderator on a previous forum. He wanted to be an admin, but I said he wasn't being active enough, so he got mad at me and kept PM'ing me asking if he could be an admin. I handled the situation cooly and just ignored the PM's. He eventually stopped. I never made him an admin. However, If I did, it could have made him more active. I could have done that, but I didn't. I now regret that as the forum died shortly after that.

I try not to argue with Administrators, I try too keep my cool and start acting nice, this can be the opposite if he/she done someone that did not apply to my taste

We had issues like this on the forum where I've been an admin for over four years. A few years ago we had one admin who decided to just be difficult, disagree with every staff decision for the sake of disagreement, cause fights and rifts between the staff, and even stoop to slandering the other admins in his sig. Everyone had stress levels through the roof for months just because of this one admin, and the site owner wouldn't let us just move him on.

We finally managed to get rid of him, and since then we've had minor squabbles amongst ourselves (which is normal when you're dealing with different people and trying to accommodate differing opinions and views), but nothing too major where tensions have been really thick.

Oh yes, I've been there and dealt with that at a previous forum I used to help at, sadly it got too bad that it had to close because all of us refused to work at a place with so much slander like that :(

Sounds very frustrating, I wonder why the Main Admin (Owner) allowed it to get that far and not just removed him. Which is something I would do, wouldn't think twice about it.

Good strategy. It always helps to be nice to others. It gets you on their good side, and generally makes more people like you.

That must have really stunk. I would probably temporarily leave if something like this ever happened.

Well I am assuming the person paying for everything is the owner of the forum which makes him the "boss" of sorts. When working for a "boss" you need to be respectful of their final say, but the "boss" needs to be respectful of everyone's opinions and needs to make compromises to keep the staff team and the forum running smoothly. When a forum owner starts acting all my-way-or-the-highway, then you know you are working for a dictator and its probably best to get out.

Good advice theezy, I completely agree. I wouldn't stay on a forum if it was ran if the owner was like a dictator whether staff or a normal user.
