Are You a Moderator or Admin?

Now, a lot of people will try to be both, but, I believe your one of the other.

Are you a moderator? Someone willing to help someone run their forum, but not be in charge?

Are you an Admin? Someone who runs the forum as the backbone of the community?

I'm personally a moderator. I enjoy helping keep a board clean, but I honestly do not enjoy running a forum.

 

I used to be both, but now I am just more of an Admin, I like running a forum more than moderating one.. And I don't like being staff on other forums unless I can truly commit to it and do a good job.

 

I don't like being an admin because I don't have the technical know how to fix the forum in times of trouble, I can't add anything new (mod wise), and I would constantly feel like I'm letting my community down. Plus, I don't like the stress.

 

Yea their is alot of stress behind administrating a community, specially if its an active one.

 

I'd much rather be classified as a Moderator. The pain of making and running a forum as an Admin can be a pain in the butt. However, as life makes it, I fall under the Admin category.

In response to that, I'd hate to be part of the staff at DP.

 

Regarding DigitalPont, I don't see their staff doing much to be honest, but lets stay on topic lol.

 

I'm more of a quiet founder/tech admin these days, as I'm slowly losing interest in posting/moderating and want to get back to what I enjoy doing (modding forums)

 

Why dont you just get back to running forums? It probably has been years you haven't ran a forum. (Your host's support forums dont count )

 

Because part of running a forum means posting to it, and posting is starting to bore me. Then I also have to go promote it and it's just not worth the effort right now as I only have about 6 hours on-line time a day now, compared to my usual 8-12 hours

 

Yea, getting a forum of its feet his very tough.. I cant see myself starting a new forum again. My main priority is AdminBB anyway.

 

I have always preferred to be an Admin, I don't like being staff on other forums because I just dont get that same feel as I do on my own.

 

I have to agree, I know exactly what you mean.. I don't feel the same either when being staff on other forums.

So you mean you are more of a tech admin, so you work behind the scenes?

 

I work as both. I work as an Administrator as well as a Moderator. I currently have a position on ForumPromotion as a Community Team Member (so, therefore helping a forum be clean) and I run multiple forums, therefore being an Administration and Moderator.

 

how do you have time for everything?

 

I never sleep to be honest with you. I'm constantly on the go with energy drinks.
