Is your site on the first page of google search for it's name? AdminBB is in the first page and is #1 for the search terms "adminbb" and "admin bb" which is great because those are great keywords as admin bb means Admin BulletinBoard, its the same meaning as Admin Forum. So you see forum software such as MyBB, and phpBB which is short for My BulletinBoard and php BulletinBoard.
we are first page, well we are 3rd on the first page after another forum who is listed twice haha. But google goes off forums you visit most doesn't it? i know we are deffo first page in the uk which is our target audience for a very competitive keyword
I wouldn't think its about which forums are visited the most but how often there is new content posted and indexed. But it could be both.
First page for Enigma, enigma computer community, enigma community, enigma computer, computer community, enigmablog. Though I think that's because Google is using the info about which sites I visit.
We're on page one, listed as the first two (main domain first and then /forums as the second). There's an add on for Firefox which lets you select which country you want to see google search results for, really handy when you're in the UK and want to see how you're ranking in the USA etc, can't remember for the life of me what the add on is called though, and for some reason I don't appear to have it on Firefox anymore
Searching the voice internet radio has me as the third result behind two Scandinavian radio stations also named The Voice. -_- lol Our Facebook page is result #7 and a thread about the site on internet-radio.org.uk is #8. voiceradio has my Twitter page as #5 and the site at #17. We're #73 for voice radio, lol.
When you search the name of my forum, the actual index page of my forum doesn't show. A thread shows. Which I guess I should be glad for because it's better than nothing.
type my full name and my facebook page immediately shows first, lol type in my host, and that is also first and McAfee thinks that the .info site is bad
My site is the first entry on the first page for a few phrases - including the title and (oddly) the phrase "my pure bb" even though we never include spaces in the name.
Yea its better than nothing, but you should try and keep your forum updated with new content and regularly advertise and your forum's mainpage will be there in no time.
Just happened to check this again...we're number two for the voice internet radio now, and apparently the .se one that was formerly in second is now on the third page. o_O 2. My forum 6. My thread on another internet radio support/advertisement forum 7. My feedback thread on XF 8. My Facebook page 10. Station listing on internet radio directory 11. Site page on LinkedIn 15. IP.Links listing on Mikey's forum (I think he's registered here) 17, 18. Events pages (from Jaxel's XenAtendo addon)--didn't expect those to be there o_O Shame that Twitter won't get into the mix since the max number of characters for the "Name" (not username, but the "real name" field) is 20, and the name is 24 (21 w/o spaces)...I changed the Bio to include the full name of the site; we'll see if it starts to show up.
http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8&q=The+Voice+Internet+Radio, not bad if you keep up with the advertising and constantly keeping your forum updated with new content you should be number 1.
