Buying or selling your forum or website

Have you ever considered buying or selling your forum or website? If so, did you ever manage to sell it, and how much did you sell it for?

 

I got to sell one of my forums, for like 30$

 

I have never sold a forum before and I plan to keep it that way as I dont like giving my hard work over to people as its priceless for me. For example before opening AdminBB last year, I had a gaming forum which was very big and successful but I decided to close it when I could have sold it for a good price.

 

I haven't sold or brought any forums or websites, but I have merged one into another, and also given away one of my forums before.

 

I sold an old forum for forum currency before. Didn't work out too well. For one thing, the new owner didn't know jack about phpBB, which is what we were using at the time, and it was just downright ridiculous. I'm never trying my luck with that again.

 

How did it go?

 

Not well, the merger never took off in the end, despite my best efforts to continue to work with it, and the give away back fired when my friend told me that she wasn't interested in it any more either

I have and am. I'm trying Flippa out right now for it, though no luck atm. If I can't get my reserve for it, then I'll probably break it up and sell it.

 

I have heard nothing but good things about flippa, but its best to sell there when you have a large website.

 

I have never sold any forums, nor have I merged them. I might in the future, but, not now.
