Do you put in more money in your website than you earn from it?

So far for me, I have put in a lot of money into AdminBB, as its a hobby and I enjoy running it. But im starting to slowly earn from it.

I put too much money in it, but don't get much back, however it's all worth it

Exactly. I am a strong believer one should not get into this business with the primary objective to make money. You will be very disappointed. You have to love what you do, and if it shows enough, some money will come later. Very few are able to make a full time living of this.

 

Indeed, those are the people who never succeed. And the people who are not in it for the money, the ones with a passion are the ones who usually end up earning from it.

 

In answer to your question, yes. But not cos I don't plan to make money, it's always nice to make money from something you enjoy, and I certainly enjoy running forums.

 

Yea, it always is great to earn from something you enjoy. Alot of people make a living out of things they enjoy.

Well im sure you will one day, but im sure it doesnt matter if you enjoy it, which I am sure you do

 

Ofcourse i do, i love making somethings people can enjoy :] Reality is the joy pay more then the money can

 

Yea, money isnt everything. I run AdminBB for the joy and passion and helping others.

In an old forum i had, i haven't placed any ads even when i reached 2500+ posts. I really don't care whether i get any money from it. All i care is, i should be an admin of a "community" rather than being guard of a money machine.

but what Kaiser is talking about is Profit, we all must profit within our website or else it might not be useful and you could turn out to be broke after.

 

I dont think you understood what Kaiser is talking about, he said that money is not important, but if you earn money than its just a bonus to what you already enjoy doing money included or not.
