Name: CODForums | Call of Duty Forums
    Link: http://www.codforums.com
Description: A community for like-minded Call of Duty fans! We're heading into a reveal of Modern Warfare 3, but this forum covers more than just modern warfare.
Other Information: It is currently on vBulletin, I am doing some testing; by paying attention to traffic for a month before deciding to move to xenforo, if neccessary. Oh, and the skin is temporary.

Wait, what? Looks so much better than before, what do you mean?

Ah, yes. I do realize, but it's actually sad to have to upgrade to vb4. :(

I liked that vb3 skin. Too bad, when I moved the site over from the old server to the new one - errors ensue.

Oh, you were on vb3? I would have just gone straight to XF.

I thought of it, but I also have vbSEO, too.

Timing is everything, so I will give this a month [or two] before moving.

They say "don't fix what it ain't broke."

I am seeing a LOT of COD Forums keyords being used, so one of the things that I realize is: Traffic isn't a problem. I have to track down the problems and figure out what works, and what doesn't.

Thing is, I can't make too many mistakes with it, I spent a lot of money JUST acquiring the whole site. Took me a year's worth of hard work to get to this point.

It would be nice if xf worked on vBSEO redirect scripts. And yea I agree.. you know whats best for your forum.

Don't you have like 3 other forums?

Looks good though I'll say that bit. We'll see how far it goes.

Your forum looks pretty slick, but the light blue text against the background graphic is a bit hard to see. Is there anything you could do with the contrast to make it stand out a bit?

The skin is temporary, I will get a custom-made skin in the future. The one we had before the upgrade was heavily coded. If you check out archive.org and dig up codforums in there, you'll see the skin as it was before.

Okay, so vBulletin 4 has been working for quite a while until the latest update, in which I applied the 4.1.4 update... Then all of a sudden, the instance got real buggy fast. So, at that time, I was frustrated, I didn't need it at that point. I was at vBulletin forums trying to find solutions. Meanwhile, I was speaking to one of the "Staff" that recently got hired, but before he has berated me - and he still did it during his tenure as Staff. Someone else defended him and tried to tarnish my name, and my reputation. I then got into a heated battle with him, then Steve got into it and warned me immediately without paying attention to the previous posts.

I went over this with Steve because he's been warning me over small things, such as being warned for a post in which I got into heated battle with other members - T'was an old post. 4 months old. I fought with the higher-ups above Steve, but they were on his side. So when this new warning came on, I decided to fight against Steve, directly. He warned me again, this time, he quickly banned me. I sent a support ticket, lo and behold; the senior operations manager was on his side.

I was given an opportunity to be refunded - I was surprised, and I was skeptical about it, so I was sarcastic about it. :) Few days later, Voila!

I used it to pay for some xenforo licenses, and so CODForums moved to xenForo!

Everything is intact... All that I need to do is tweak the site here and there, then it's back in business! :)

An update to AdminBB/AdminTalk users: CODForums went through small bits of template edits and banner changes.

I love xenforo's header and navigation system. I can easily swap out background header without messing with the logo. :)

Modern Warfare 3 is a couple of days away from being released. 11.8.11!

A better theme, would really improve the forums overall look. It's been like that for quite sometime now.

Originally, I wanted to leave xenForo alone for a while because I wanted my users to get accustomed to the functions of xenForo. It was a testing phase for me, too. I wanted to learn a few things: Do the users like xenForo enough that a stock theme is just scratching the surface? I have learned that yes, it does. The second thing I wanted to know is how much growth should I be expecting if I got a redesign done. I have answered my own question six months later.

Neverless, I have spoken to a few designers, and I have committed to one. http://xenforo.com/community/threads/call-of-duty-design.30094/

I'm a quality minded person, so I'm not just going to redesign my site with a cheap, pre-made skin.

They do some nice stuff, we've had a few issues with their peachy theme, but their stuff has always looked great.
