I think the vBulletin mobile forum is really laggy and loads really slow. I tried on my iPhone with 3G and wifi an both were slow. I really like the IP. Board mobile feature because it doesn't lag as much and loads pretty fast. Just my opinion. What about you?
I couldn't say, as I haven't tried the mobile app. But im not too surprised as the mobile app is still pretty new.
More, or less. You have to like, install the skin. But the Mobile Suite that's coming out tomorrow is the one that you have to pay attention to, because they charge $99 for the whole thing.
Yes it will. People like the fast mobile version when their on their phones. They don't want to load the whole page.

Actually, the market for iphone > forum traffic is growing, so this mobile app would feed that market a lot more than you think. In fact, I can tell you first-hand, that my Marvel Vs Capcom 3 site [ahem; forum] has a lot of iphone/mobile phone use. Surprising, but true.
I know what you are saying, but its still not widely used.. people usually just visit from their computers, and when they do visit from their mobiles its only for a short time just to check up on things. I dont disagree with you, just that its not worth paying for mobile related add-ons
