What is the first thing you do when you join a forum ?

Same here, and I will also change the settings to how I want them, like if I wanted to receive email notifications, etc. or if there are topics I want to keep an eye on through email, that kind of thing.

 

Your welcome on my forum any time I wish all members would read the rules not just the main once but the once in forum promotion because some member do 2 posts then try and promote there forum and when I decline there post there they complain

 

I would just post an Intro topic or upload an Avatar. I mostly don't care about changing e-mail notification setting as i use separate mails for personal and other uses.

 

I set my avatar and then introduce myself.

 

I always like to add an avatar as I feel it gives your account a personal touch, I'm not too keen on forums that disable the avatar feature completely, etc.

 

Are you serious? I never even heard of that. Thats not normal for a forum lol.

 

The Games Place offered Avatars as a VIP feature, this may have changed when they merged into Mega Victory and changed software, but I don't know

 

Thats still sad, trying to make money out of something thats defualt on most forums. lol.

 

yea I know. I gave the owner hosting credit to enable the feature instead, lol

 

ROFL, this just gets sadder and sadder, and now its a FAIL.

 

I pick a kitty avatar from my vast collection (Photography is a hobby of mine), and add a signature.

 

Sometimes, if it's a forum I never heard of or am not familiar with, I like to wait a little bit before adding the extra "perks". I like to wait and see if I will enjoy being active on the community before adding anything.

 

I lurk around, read the rules, post in some threads, and post an introduction. I never upload a picture and I rarely add a signature. I think it's pointless. >_<

 

Well atleast you read the rules which is something no one does.

 

The first thing I do, is make an introduction topic.

 

Add an signature and make an intro post.

 

Look through the profile settings and then look around, lurk a bit, then post

 

Yes like what most people say, I make an introduction so people know I am here.

 

I usually post on a topic that might have made me register in the first place, then I go and introduce myself.
