Do you guys think I'm right, or wrong with this one? I've been a member of various admin forums - but it seems like more are springing upon every month, why do you think this is? Do people think running admin forums - are easily profitable, or is there something I'm missing?
It is probably a little phase that is spiralling around, first promotion forums, then hosts, and now it's the turn of admin forums
I have to agree. I like admin forums, but there seems to be loads of them all of sudden. It's crazy! I'm just glad I picked the niche that I did.
I haven't been on TAZ for quite some time, but I'm sure it is still holding the title for the biggest administration forum. I know this is a popular genera, but I think the reason why people are creating them is maybe they want the challenge that comes with running a Webmaster forum. You know, the challenge of providing services to other forum administrators, that kind of thing. That's only a guess, mind you.
What admin forums do you frequently visit? Ya, I'm a member of TAZ as well - I believe its still holding the title. Unless forumpromotion us now the biggest? Ya, but not everyone has the ability to market a new admin forum - it's tough.
FP is an advertisement forum, TAZ is an admin resource (webmaster) forum, and are both different genre's really
I'm highly doubting that FP is now the biggest. I mean, what year did TAZ come out? I know Forum Promotion came out in 2007 (not sure of the month or date) but I don't think that, being as FP is only four years old, and it's not even at the 100,000 member mark yet, I'm highly doubting that it's jumped up to being the biggest resource forum out there. Admin forums I frequently visit, both new and old, include here, Advertise Hotspot (occasionally), Admin Forums, Forum Promotion, Forum Hype, EZ Promotion,Webmaster Forum, and Webmasters Network. So I actually float about on quite a few admin forums, really. And I can agree about not everyone being able to cope with trying to run a Webmaster forum: I've been there done that and I even quit before I even started because I thought of some of the problems that Forum Advertiser as well as other forums were having with keeping staff, especially in the Packaging and Reviewing areas, and I wasn't prepared to take on that same kind of stress, so that's why I'm doing general chat. Loads easier and not as much work involved. I thought they were both kind of the same thing, but I can see how they are different, though, as one offers services to help your forum gain activity, while the other one is mostly tips and ideas on how to make your forum better and stand out more. So I can see where you're coming from with that.
Digital Point is. Other than that, it's just other people trying to run on the success of someone else's work. That's why at one point, there were a hell of a lot of promotion forums as well.
Ya, but they're both in the same niche. Webmastering and forum owners are the same thing - but Digital point is different - its a full webmasters discussion forum, the others are for forum owners.
I understand that they're both the same niche, but what I'm trying to say is that while they're both based around the same idea, or the same format (however you want to look at it) at the end of the day, what each one's goals are or what they stand for is different.
I agree. This already is a comfortable place to be in. Still can't quite get the hang of this new software, but I still like it here.
