Have you gotten bored with your own community? Such as it bored you so much you had to take time off to get back to the main picture - which is working and engaging on your community? Personally, I can't say I have yet, and I won't say never because if my stress myself out, it could possibly happen.

    How about you though?

Yeah there are sometimes you just need to walk away, sometimes for a day or two. It happens. :)

I find myself doing this more and more with just the internet in general.
I never thought I'd want to be disconnected from the web but it sometimes just way to nice our or you just want to get away from everyone for a weekend.
    It's nice! :)

I recently started a new community, but this time it's a driver for the concept of the site, if that makes sense.

I'm determined to build it organically but i'll need some patience.

I haven't yet but I don't force myself to participate in discussions when I don't want to. I try to make it less of a chore and more fun so I don't burn out too quickly.

I added a blog recently and I've found dividing my time between the forum and the blog leaves me with little time for boredom

I am sorry to hear you are being let down by your staff. Learn not to depend on them to make your forum a success.

The staff I have, I use the word loosely are friends who help out when they can. Mostly we just converse amongst ourselves in the forums. Their presence is enough for now as the forum is pretty much running itself

Anyway good luck with the new staff. I hope they meet your goals

Oh that first line you said is how is so true. Thanks Hotmess...I've done 98 percent of the stuff for my site. I went from Forumotion to actual software(mybb/smf) and onto paid software, did all the promoting, dealt with all the drama, ignorance of racist and homophobes, scandals, rumors, DDos attacks, troll attacks, Designing banners/skins(I'm no pro but i have come along way since last october lol), staff randomly quitting, etc etc.

I think what pisses me off is the fact that promises are made, discussions are had and nothiing has changed really for me or the site as far as the staff is concerned and i sort of have to take it because they are some of my most active posters(though their posting has decrease immensely) so ehhh....

but thanks for the luck :D I hope so too, I haven't found anybody just yet(just started advertising). My forum is offline now in the process of a server move :P

Yeah I am finding the Internet kind of boring lately myself. I miss the days of going to new websites and being amazed.

If you need some help, I'm willing to lend my hand out to you. And also, my community has a lot of teens, some may be interested in working for you. Team work is the best!

The last couple of days I was bored with my forum. I just had to clear my head, and remember why I'm building my community.

I am starting to get less interested too about the things/forums that I used to love. It seems like my former friends from the forums I frequently visit has started to move on with their life. I look at myself and I kind of feel sad you know.

The great thing about forums is that there will always be new members and new friends to meet. :)

I have never gotten bored with my community, no. I have been stressed by all of the work and had to step away because of that, but it wasn't boredom that pushed me in that direction.

I'm never bored with my communities, the issues is that sometimes I have so much client work I can barely log in. Otherwise, they're always a lot of fun, that's why I started them in the first place anyway :)
