Dmoz: ever got a site listed?

I tried but it turns out a senior moderator for a competing board managed my section. I could've fought it but too much work for too little return, IMHO.

Nope. I didn't even bother. It might've been relevant years ago, but I wasn't big enough at that point to think it was worthwhile. And now, at a point where it could potentially matter, I don't think DMOZ holds nearly enough weight any more, so I don't really care.

Nope, never got a site listed in DMOZ, at least in the last few years. Don't think my current topic even has a category there due to how out of date the directory is.

I'm a little bit disturbed about how apparently you need to bribe the editors just to have a chance at getting your site included. Shows how utterly pathetic the management is over there now and how corrupt the whole thing is.

I've tried to get my sites listed on DMOZ, but it's such a pain in the @$$ to do so. They never respond back to your requests.

You know, it'd be nice if they actually contacted you after your request and outright said whether you got accepted or not. It wouldn't have to be immediately, just some sign that they actually look at submissions rather than just throwing them in the next rubbish bin and pretending they never received them. I must have submitted some of my sites about four times so far, and I have no idea whether they received even one of these submissions. They say not to repeatedly submit your site, but how's anyone supposed to follow that rule if you have no idea whether they even looked at it?

To date not one of these people that post about editors taking bribes have actually come up with any evidence. I know this for fact because I have investigated a number of these claims. It pisses me off when people throw around this type of garbage, but, fail to give editor names, categories submitted to or any other information. Corrupt editors are shown the door real quick. It's pretty easy to find them when you know what to look for.

Same old, same old. I heard it a thousand times. BS then, BS now. I think I'll look into your claims. Shouldn't be hard to connect the dots. Interesting enough that when someone posts something like this it turns out to be totally false. A bunch of hot air. In my experience 1 in 1000 is true and they are caught very fast after the claims are made.

cpvr, yes I am an editor. Been one since 1999 when it all started. I am a top level editor or meta editor. I can edit everywhere, approve new editors and do a whole lot of other things. My specialty is investigating editor abuse although I don't have as much time as I used to.

Heck, could you try and add the category my site should theoretically be listed in? Because there's not even a category to submit it to on the DMOZ at the moment, at least not in English.

You say it like you're proud of what you're doing. This is cheating.

What's worse is that you're bragging about bribing editors into submitting your site to DMOZ.

Then, to top it off, you argue with an editor of DMOZ. AWS is a tough person to deal with.
