Well, I've worked in the webmaster/admin forum niche for a while, I've also tried my luck at creating an off-topic/general chat forum, and we actually got that forum to 30k posts before merging it a few months later, I even had a t-shirt made for it called "Offtopicbb".

I also created a business forum with one of my buddies, but we ended up selling that to fund other projects.

Now, I'm just working in the virtual pets/gaming niche. How about you? How many niches have you worked in?

I've worked in many niches; General, Weight loss, Tech. Most of those boards with the exception one or two were started and shuttered within 6 months.

Only been really successful in the DJ niche. A lot of that came from already knowing a lot of people in the niche from other DJ forums and people inviting their friends and so on.

How's your weight loss forum doing? I might have to come and join, share some tips once I get back to doing my gym routine and such.;) I have a goal of losing 100 pounds.

Thanks man. It's DOA, I pulled the one RSS feed I had coming in. Yahoo news for "weight loss" is a crap load of spam.

I hoping things will slow down offline soon so I can dive in.

What I had (have) - women community, entertainment (both music / movies), women, business for women, webmaster, orthodontics, martial arts, admin, saving money. I think it covers most of the stuff I did over the years.

I'm not sure I can count. I suppose the main niches I've either modded or admined are "student, general, webmaster, blogging, sexuality, teens, and gaming." That's not an exclusive list, but covers the main topics I've actually -worked- on forums in, though.

As far as forums are concerned, I am a Mod on a farming forum and Admin in my writing forum. I also participate in several other forums, and am learning as I go. If someone had told me one month ago that I would be a Mod in a forum I probably would have told them they were nuts, but now that I am in that position I am truly enjoying it.

I have worked in a few education, sport, admin, virtual pet, weight loss and a few teen ones back in the day niches. I really only stick around the admin, education and virtual pet niches now.

I haven't worked for any forums other then the ones I started, and I owned a webmaster forum, gaming forum, and now I own just my poker forum.

    How are those forums doing?

We make a good team as well. I haven't seen a good weight loss forum in a while.

I've worked at 4 full time, and been an admin at 3. It's something I've been doing for awhile, I think it's pretty fun. Most of them were technology related, except for my current one that I own.

All my past forums have been about video games in some way, and have been about games by the same company. I might try a different niche in future, it's just I currently have few other interests I feel compelled to make a forum about.

Did you sell off your previous forums or what did you do with them?

I closed the first one due to lack of interest more than anything. It's a long story.
