I've been scanning over the xenforo forum the last week and see that K/M/A hasn't been posting updates like they were and some members have noticed this and brought it up.

I'm a little concerned considering I have so much invested in these two sites, but I don't think xenforo is going to vanish overnight.

Some are saying that the vBulletin lawsuit is starting to take it's toll on the team.

    Thoughts?

Definetly the suit has to be taking a toll on both the company finances and even moreso morale.

I'm kind of offput but the fact that we haven't had a update since I converted to XF, what 3-4 months ago. :-/

Hopefully vB 4.2 has an XF import tool just so I can have an exit strategy, if need be.

Where can I read about this? That the vBulletin lawsuit is starting to its toll on them? I was just reading this thread > http://xenforo.com/community/threads/california-case-update.10037/page-166 and I really couldn't find anything about the users talking about that being a factor of Xenforo's decline of updates

    Edit 2: Found something http://xenforo.com/community/thread...of-free-forum-boards.31107/page-2#post-355802

This quote from Paul M is one reason for concern.

I hope they don't go under because of the lawsuit. It doesn't sound good though. :\

Well, I was reading through all this, and it is of my conclusion that they seem to have painted themselves into a corner. This is pretty much the standard legal practices of any large company. They sue you for as long as possible in order to dwindle your funds to the point that you no longer have the means to fight them or till you no longer have the means to substain your company. That is what this kind of sounds like. I hope this is not the case as I own a couple Xenforo licenses. But, it wasnt like it was expensive. And to be honest I dont even have those sites up LOL

Wow. IB sure know how to be childish about the lawsuit.

That sounds like they're on the brink of bankruptcy. But it didn't sound like it when Kier posted a "Hello Again" thread...

well, in my books no news is good news. I always customize my forums and it's a pain to upgrade. Especially a new version usually means I have to redesign the theme, some plugins might stop working etc. So, as long as I have a fully working script (which I have), I really don't cry for updates

To me, no news is good news too, I still plan on getting XF next month for Chatting Time, and all these "concerned clients" are just making things worse in my books because the staff are having to spend time clearing up the drama when I'm sure they have much better things to do with their time...

How so? I've been reading a lot of posts lately during the last hour about this escalating "drama" you speak of... And I would echo what they're saying over at admin addict. The reason why I'm not posting there regardless of the fact that I am a long-standing member is because AWS and I had a previous fallout here at AT. I'm sure he hates me enough to ban me on first post.

Anyway, what they're saying is that every time members try to dig up questions, evoke responses from xenForo staff, they seem to shove back. And I don't mean that in a good way. They seem to be locking threads regarding questions about XF 1.2 and RM. Just slam the door and not say anything. But you're making customers angry that way. All they had to do - and I agree with the majority of them who say - all they had to do was answer the question and then move on from there, but no, they take the nazi-like stance, Brogan's the worst of the staff in how they handled it.

The staff at XF don't seem to want to give out updates on a basis. I'm not sure what kind of "regular basis" they'd like it. But Kier, Mike and Ashley should have answered these questions up front, no bull$#!^, no "slap in the face" endings. If you really care about your customers, you should address these questions head-on, no matter how many times you have to do it. You need to re-assure your customers. I'm one of them, I'm not concerned about the quietness, I'm more concerned about the attitude given lately.

Brogan's leave from xenForo is just pure example of this. A lot of people at xenForo are singing his praises so much it disgusts me. Everyone says he's a "nice guy." But let me tell you, no he's not. I am one of the many members who were "moderated" in a shape or form without any sort of explanation as of late. My thread asking for help on transferring xf to xf was deleted and he didn't even put out a notice on why. I was merely asking for help.

Brogan didn't care, just deleted my post.

For months, my account was put on moderation for whatever reason. No message, no warning, nothing. None of the staff cared about the fact that half of the people that "hate" me and try to evoke a fight with me... were full of vBulletin trolls. They obviously cared about what those trolls say than what us license holders say.

I tried to fight this "being placed on moderation" bull$#!^ for months. Brogan deleted all of my posts regarding it, and my status messages regarding it. So, when I shoved back on this little deleted post... He made a threat to me that he'd perma ban me.

So, I decided to air my anger on the report button since after all, he locked the private conversation where he warned me. Guess who was online the next hour of that report? Kier. I got banned for 3 months because of his disregard for me. I paid well over $500 just to believe in Kier's product! JUST to believe in his product!

It's a beautiful software, don't get me wrong. But this arrogance is only going to lose him more customers than IB is doing.

I don't support what they are doing @Carlos, neither do I support what some of the community is doing either. If Brogan has been unfair to certain people, then perhaps the power did go to his head, who knows, but I'm surprised that Kier, Mike and/or Ashley did not fully look into it, rather than just take the easy option and get the ban hammer out especially if you are a paying client...

The problem is that there are a few groups in the community as stated here: http://xenforo.com/community/thread...is-going-on-behind-xenforo.31292/#post-357442 and then the "middle men" get affected by it. The best thing to do, is to just stay out of it and just let nature take it's course and see what happens as it's impossible to keep everyone happy.

Constantly asking for updates and whatnot is only making things worse because it then starts up the speculation and rumours if it's left unanswered. If there is writing somewhere stating that constant monthly development updates or whatever will be provided in their policies, then there might something to complain about. The last post was in January this year so what...only 5 months ago, and the last release was 4 months ago if something would have changed to not support those announcements, then they would have said so. The last thing I'd like to see would be a rush project full of bugs and whatnot.

Then there is the concern about the lawsuit against Xenforo. The problem with this is that you are limited to what you can say in public, by all means you can say that you're winning, and have a good case etc. but it doesn't mean that will happen. Both sides will act that they are going to win, so will try and look for evidence to ensure you stick and transfer back to "the winning side" and I personally wouldn't rely on anything said about costs posted on either side so how would anyone definitely know that "their debts are bigger than their assets" unless someone had insider information so yet again more drama and speculation is caused...

This will be the last post about this issue, I've got better things to do than to comment and argue over the status of Xenforo, other than to say that I'm not concerned and I'm happy to wait for news, be it good...or bad...

I just checked xenforo and see 3 new complaint threads about this topic
I guess Brogan left, Shelley is removing her addons ad Floris closed down..
I'm not really bothered but the same threads over and over at xenforo.com are annoying to say the least.

    And I said this...
Sooo, I guess my post was annoying. :(

Anyhow, Slavik's a mod now. I can't say that's good news for me, because he and I got into an argument in the past and I don't think he'll be fair.

That's water over the bridge. I don't ban anyone unless they break site guidelines. Doesn't matter what happened in the past either. Feel free to post away.

This just continues to destroy the XF brand. And the lack of information flow is getting worse. I guess they are losing the fight and do not wish to make it public. Though, it could be they were placed under a gag order, but if that is the case they could tell people they are under a GAG order. Either way this product is seriously taking a huge hit and being devalued. Which is sad because it is a nice product. But, just to go back to the start like I said before I just never saw it being as big or better than VB. And now its even losing its small niche in the market that it was holding on to

I'm curious how comes it seems Kier and Ashley, plus all the mods are showing their face online at XF now. Yet, Mike isn't though and Brogan didn't mention Mike's name in his complaint thread either.
