Tell us why you don't believe it's being sold.

I'd rather make a wager. If in 1 month a sale has been announced I will not post anything Pro-VB on this site for 1 year, bit if there is no sale I want people to sign up to promise not to post anything Anti-VB for a year.

I highly doubt vBulletin has been sold or will be sold any time soon but I also don't agree that the company has no sale value. I for one would consider buying it if I could afford it because in spite of everything it's still the market leader in terms of forum installations.

That's a mailing list of tens of thousands of forum owners who are presumably still happy to use the product in one form or another. Anyone prepared to buy the company and invest in a decent development team has a ready made market for a decent product.

Unfortunately I doubt it'll happen. More likely Internet Brands will simply retain vBulletin and keep knocking out garbage.

If somebody offered you a direct upgrade which required no conversion and could be easily done, would you not consider? Obviously VB3x >> VB5x is not an easy upgrade path. Eventually VBulletin 3 customers WILL need to upgrade or they'll be left with outdated software which in turn has old code (and will probably be riddled with security holes).

An emphatic NO not even if they paid me to allow them to do it free of charge. There is nothing to upgrade to but buggy more outdated code than what you would be upgrading from.

I agree, but if it was purchased by a company that wasn't going to mismanage it, and wasn't going to release poor code would you consider? I'm sure at least some would. If they haven't already moved to IPB or XenForo. Personally, I'd stay clear of any 'new' versions Internet Brands are releasing.

If shit didn't stink so bad there would be no world hunger or food shortage.
Again an emphatic NO!!!!!! to any thoughts of reconsidering or otherwise use of any reincarnation of vBull. What part on NO don't you get? What interest do you have in vBull to try and suggest to me it will ever recover? In either their hands or someone elses? When shit is in the toilet the decent thing to do is flush it, not leave it so others are offended by its odor or taken advantage of by misleading intentions and advertizing. My personal opinion is it is done.

If VB did sell, I hope whoever got it actually makes it back into what is used to be... a good software.

NO one believes you. You'd have to be an IDIOT to not use a piece of software if it was great software for your needs- the fact no one believes people when they make such statements as you have made should be taken as a compliment- they don't think you're that big of an idiot. It's obvious you are just trying to be dramatic. "I'll never..." yeah OK there buddy, you keep saying it... We believe you...

I will NEVER use Vbulletin again. I had somewhere close to 100 licenses, and now I have 0. If I had any attention of using it again I would have kept at least one, but I did not. I used to make a lot of money using vbulletin. But, now I do not even own a forum. I gave it up, because the money was no longer there, and the software became shit. So, no idea why you can not believe people would NEVER do something? Even if they fixed it, I wouldnt. There is no need. If I want to start a forum I would buy a Xenforo license. It is better than the rest IMO.

Simple truths that VB/IB just cannot seem to grasp.
They refuse to accept that the customer is the important one.
This is why they will ultimately fail.

It's answers like this from vB staff that also don't help the situation one iota either. It really is way past the time for "the staff" to come down from their high horse.

Actually, the vB horse looks something like this....

    4d849f53390cc400a5dca6b56a6a5857.jpg

.....so it should be hard to step down off of it. LOL!:D

At least Paul made no demeaning or belittling comment for a change. That is a great step in the right direction. Maybe he has a fresher and better attitude towards customers now since his, most likely well earned, vacation. Maybe you need one two Joe?

    Ode to VB.
For though she listened and watched me on my rocking horse
She never heard his whispered promises that, of course,
He'd be with me always to the end of the world
No matter how quickly my childhood unfurled.
I clung to my rocking horse and his promise as I grew,
But oh how cruelly old Father Time flew.
Too soon did that fatal day come,
    Leaving my reeling mind numb,
That my beloved rocking horse could no longer carry
My grown body and dreams turned weary.
His dulled, worn figure cracked beneath my weight
And left my poor suffering heart to the same fate.

That is my story of the rocking horse that broke my heart,
Who now lives in fairy realms and my dreams, a world apart.

You seems to have a ton of holidays here and there.
Considering your 4.2.2 masterpiece, what about 4.2.3?
Any update on replacing the "SKIP ALL ERRORS" magic words?
